Meridian Neighborhood
Information
The Guide Meridian Neighborhood is currently one of Bellingham’s neighborhoods with the most room for expansion. The neighborhood is growing largely to the North where many retail chains have opened up shop such as Costco, Wal Mart, and Best Buy.
In the residential realm it has been an area of much construction in the recent years, with many new Condominium Complexes and apartments being built. On the northern edge of the neighborhood there are also new single family homes being built along, Meadowboork and Bedford Ave.
The Guide Meridian Rd is Bellingham’s hub, home to almost of Bellingham’s larger retail stored. It is a great place to shop, or enjoy of bite to eat at one of the many resteraunts. Bellis Fair Mall is located along the Guide and is has five department store as well an many other smaller shops and stores.
Children in the Guide Meridian area may fall into one of two school districts, either Bellingham School District or the Meridian School District to the North. The cut off line is is the Van Wyck Rd, all children North attend schools in the Meridian District which is Irene Reither Primary School, Meridian Middle School and Meridian High School. Those in the Bellingham District to the South attend Birchwood Elementary School, Shuksan Middle School and Squalicum High School
