Saturday, October 24th the St. Joseph Cancer Center will be offering FREE prostate screening for the first 200 men to register by Oct. 15th.
Prostate cancer is the second most prevalent form of cancer in men , and is the second leading cause of men’s cancer deaths. According to the American Cancer Society one in six men will get prostate cancer during their lifetime, and one in 35 will die as a result of the cancer. Routine prostate cancer screening is the key to prevention and maintaining a health prostate cancer free life.
On Saturday, October 24th local Whatcom County Urologists will offer the
prostate cancer screening at the St Joseph Cancer Center to men ages 50 to 75. Screening will also be available to men if their 40’s if they have a family history of prostate cancer or are of African American decent. The FREE screening will include a digital rectal exam and a prostate-specific-antigent blood test , commonly known as a PSA test.
