It’s that time of year again, the time that Whatcom County locals call “Fair Week.” The Northwest Washington Fair begins today in Lynden and runs through Saturday, August 22nd. Fair Gates open daily at 9am, vendors open 1oam, Carnival rides start at 11am and the fair closes daily at 11pm.
There is a little something for everyone at the fair. For the animal lover
there are piglets, calves, horses, bunnies, goats and more on display in the Henry Jansen building. For the dare devil or motorsports enthusiast Mike Metzger the pioneer freestyle motorcross rider will perform on Saturday night in a freestyle motocross event sponsored by Metal Mulisha.
Admittance to the fair is $10 for adults, $8 for Seniors 62 years and older and $5 for children ages 6 to 12. Kids age 5 and under are free.
