Both Lylene & I held homes open yesterday.  They were really well attended, especially considering the bright sunny weather that we had. Lylene had 3 families. Two of the families had one “little one” each & the other family was expecting.  Five couples came through my Open House – some just getting ideas for future decisions & some actively looking for that “special spot”. All were curious about the market – wondering where it was headed & what we thought it would look like in the months ahead. We come well prepared to answe those questions with statistical sales data, foreclosure & short sale information, a copy of the current Whatcom Real Estate Review & of course our computers connected to the multiple listing service – may not know the answers on the tip of our tongues but we certainly have the tools there to help.
Lylene held open 1703 James St which is a 4 bedroom 2 bath home, & she describes it as:

A Lovely Lady at at 1703 James St in Bellingham Wash
This lovely lady is almost 100 years old, but she carries her years with style (after a lot of help!). New kitchen, bathrooms, finishes and colors have been carefully planned to keep her character while providing for a modern lifestyle. The master bedroom is an oasis of calm & new windows pull light into every room. Systems have been updated, as has the exterior and the crawlspace. Great neighborhood is biking distance to downtown but tucked away out of the mainstream. If you’d care to see the virtual tour we have created for this home, access our Virtual Tour Production If you were unable to attend Lylene’s Open House & would like to preview this home, call our office at 360-527-8766 or our toll free number  at 888-713-3056
The home I held open was 1935 Electric.
I would describe it as Alpine privacy in central Bellingham. This incredible home has soaring ceilings, an open floor plan, river rock fireplace & is flooded with natural light. Lovely wood floors & new carpet make it better than new. The detached garage is over 700 sq ft – big enough for 2 cars and lots of toys, plus a full, easy access 2nd floor for all the storage you will ever need. Enjoy the sounds of Whatcom Creek and have your own private gate into Whatcom Falls park. This is the best of every world!Â
If you would like to preview this home, please give our office a call & one of our Buyer’s Agents would be delighted to show either of these homes to you. You can view additiional photos on-line at Virtual Tour Production
Mia Takes Lylene & I for a Walk at the Lake Padden Dog Park

Mia Helping Us Get Our Exercise @ The Lake Padden Dog Park
On our way home after the Open Houses, we’d stopped at the lake Padden Dog Park with our son’s dog, Mia. He was involved with clients & Mia was anxious for exercise & quite frankly the 3 mile trail was good for all of us – probably more so for Lylene & me than for Mia.

The End of a Very Nice Day

The Most Beautiful Spot in the Universe
On our way home we saw that Erik Larsen from our office was doing a “Sunset Open House” at a home that he had listed. We’ve been licensed for 20 years & had never been to a “Sunset Open House” before so off we sent to see what Erik was up to. His house is at 2211 Hawk Way & is truly spectacular. If you have not seen it you should give Erik a call & have him give you the “Cook’s Tour”. It’s a 6 bedroom , 3.5 bath home with all the bells & whistles. I don’t know how Erik pulled it off but the sunset yesterday evening was spectacular. I’m going to have to talk to him & see how he arranged for it.Â
After we left Erik’s listing, we drove up to Ruby Place on Squalicum Mountain & took this photo.
It turned out to be a pretty full day for us – we hope yours was as well.
