I was reading through my weekly Bellingham Business Journal updates for the week and noticed that there are a couple of new proposed developments that others might find interesting, one on Jersey & Chestnut in the downtown area and one on the Deemer Rd off Bakerview.
Mike Hays applied for the permit to build a mixed use building in the 1200 block of Jersey St which will consolidate a total of four lots. The building is slated to have commerical space, underground and surface parking as well as one and two bedroom residential units located on three floors. Currently the lots are home to some delapidated housing.
Sergey Savchuk submitted his plans to the City of Bellingham to build a 16 unit multi family building at 4100 Deemer Rd. The units are set to be around 1,300 sq ft and feature both 1 and 2 bedroom configurations. Both developments have preliminary approval and the developers just need to apply for the actual building permits. Both would like to begin building by the end of this year.
