Happy Halloween to everyone! Hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween, below are some safety tips for everyone!

Parents:

Be sure to talk to your kids about looking both way and general safety when out and about on the sidewalks and roads.

If your children are going out along or with friends, be sure to establish a return time as to avoid any worry or concern

Establish a pre planned route so if anything happens the path is easy to find

Motorists:

Be sure to watch out for children darting out from between parked cars.

Enter and exit driveways and alleys with caution.

Also, be sure to look over all candy with care and caution, as a rule, “When in doubt, throw it out!

Yesterday, Bellingham was awarded with the Green Power Partner of the Year Award from the Environmental Protection Agency. The award is one of only two awarded nationally, and is meant to recoginze individuals, programs, and organizations that further advance the developement of green power sources in their community.

Puget Sound Energy’s donation of a 12 panel solar instalation at Maritime Heritage Park’s Environmental Learning Center was one of the projects that led to Bellingham’s selection for the award. Bellingham has had a very high sign up rate for green power over the past several years which in turn has led to lowered rates for green power consumers by as much as 40%.
