Yesterday was a big day for those in Whatcom County, especially those on the Northside of Nooksack River where big events don’t often happen! And, what better way to start off the Fair then with the Demolition Derby!
There is just something about the fair that seems to bring out the kid in everyone, from the cotton candy, to the smashing and bashing of the demo cars there seems to be something for people of all ages and tastes. I know I had a blast and it’s was pretty economical as well. A friend of mine purchased advanced tickets to the fair for $6 and the tickets to the Demolition Derby were $13, so a total of $19 in full. The Demo Derby started at 7 and ended at almost 10 o’clock for almost 3 hours of entertainment for my $13 ticket, I felt pretty good about that.
It seems that everyone has there favorites when it comes to the fair, my personal favorite is actually people watching, what better place than the fair? Little kids balloons in hand, faces covered in cotton candy, or high school FHA students cleaning and prepping their animals for show, I love to see the various groups of people that unite for Fair time each year.
What is your favorite part of the fair? We would love to hear about it or see your pictures. Below are some photos I took last night of the Demo Derby.Â
