Actually, the fun I’m about to mention out in the county, but Bellingham will defnitely have a lot to offer on a hot sunny weekend too! Check out the parks, Lake Whatcom, wander around downtown or Fairhaven, go hiking, camping, biking, padling, boating, fishing – the choices are endless!

There are also two family friendly special events happening this weekend!

Lynden’s Farmers Day Parade is on Saturday June 2 starting at 10:30 am! Get there early to get a good spot and don’t forget about all the shops that you can wander to after the parade. (The dutch bakery has some particularly delightful treats). Also, Fawn from the Johnson Team will be driving the semi truck for one of the floats! Keep an eye out for her!

The Highland Games are happening this weekend in Pioneer Park in Ferndale! This is their first year in Pioneer Park, a change from Hovander Park. There will be plenty of events and performers so make sure you check it out. Their website is www.bhga.org  There is even a “Scottish Idol” which will be a talent show held tonight in Pioneer Park at 7pm.
