The jobless rate in Whatcom county has dipped to 3.7%, the lowest in over 36 years! Recent growth in manufacturing jobs has been largely responsible for this with both BP Cherry Point and Intalco adding family wage jobs.

Manufacturing: 500 new jobs
Professional and business services: 500 new jobs
Leisure and hospitality: 400 new jobs
Trade and transportation: 400 new jobs
Construction: 200 new jobs
Local Government: 200 new jobs
