Today’s tip is for sellers: get a home inspection done before you list your house. This will alert you to any problems and allow you to fix them before your house even hits the market. When you do get a signed off deal on your house, chances are closing will go much better because there won’t be any “surprises”. Get your agent to include the fact that you have already had a home inspection in the marketing as well as it can help but buyers at ease. Often buyers (particularly first time buyers) find the “perfect” house, but then get scared when things come up on the inspection. Home inspections will cost approximately $400-800. Ask your agent to refer you to someone that they have worked with before.
